Best food experience I've had in Norway. This place is on par with many Michelin star restaurants. Very service oriented people work there, especially the executive Chef Sebastian. Exclusive place for special occasions. The quality of food and service justify the price but I don't understand the rationale behind charging Kr for bottled sparkling water.

Excellent. Service and food is top notch. Worth a travel.
Food, wine, service, ambience all good. Could only fault they on one tiny little point, which basically just proved we were in Norway. No spoon with the otherwise excellent coffee, had to ask for sugar. That was it.
Curtisen had really excellent food and very attentive service in a special location. We chose the course menu which had plenty of food and several surprising amuse-bouches. Definitely worth the trip!
This restaurant has a very high attention to detail and focus on quality produce in their dishes. This is top national/world leven cooking. Each dish is presented and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available. But beware, you should have good conversation partners at the table, because it can take some time to finish all the dishes.
in the oktober we visited curtisen for the third time (and there will be much more. a gourmet dish in norway is often very expensive and the service is not always fantastic. but curtisen is an exception. eating is excellent and affordable and that. service is so beautiful. we're coming back.
my first visit to curtisen in the fredic. we came after a very interesting historical walk that was guided by a local fellow, with great knowledge about wars and battles. sebastian gave us a warm reception before the entrance to curtisen and brought us to a wine tasting. we were all in good mood after champagne tasting. and from the moment we met the table for a culinary experience, we will not forget we really enjoyed every cure with perfect wein pairing. the crab soup was excellent and my favorite! the other courses excellent and service very friendly. we felt very comfortable and enthusiastic with sebastian for our dinner. Thank you! we'll be back soon.
What a meal! First, the food was just superb. But it's so much more which made this dinner into one of our most remarkable ever. The location, insider the big fortress in Halden, do give it a wonderful atmosphere. But almost most impressive was the...chef Sebastian Engh and his sommelier. Sebastian walked around all the time and talked to his guest with a smile and nothing was stiff in this restaurant. The sommelier could tell everything about the wines. And late in the meal, Sebastian invited us out to a short light show in the fortress. We will be back!!!!
